YOUR STARTING POINT
Considering SMP for a receding hairline? Start here.
Think about the haircut you want to live with, then explore whether a pigment-based hairline fits that plan.

Choose an everyday look before a treatment.
Perhaps you already keep your hair very short. Perhaps you are considering a closer cut and want the hairline to look more defined. Start with the style you would enjoy wearing on an ordinary workday, rather than the most dramatic photograph in a gallery. Bring front and side references and explain what appeals to you: a softer edge, a particular shape or less emphasis on the temples.
Understand the visual effect.
Cleveland Clinic: scalp micropigmentation describes scalp micropigmentation as pigment placed to imitate follicles. It does not produce hair growth or the texture of hair strands. Our Calgary hairline SMP guide explores design and short-hair planning. If your goal is coverage among longer existing hairs, density SMP may be the more relevant discussion.
Plan for life after the first appointment.
Bring your normal grooming routine, work schedule and questions about future hair changes. Tylor trained in SMP in the United States; your consultation is the place to ask about relevant healed examples and the plan proposed for you. A strong decision includes the ongoing haircut, review appointments and total quote, not just the first session.
Common questions.
Do I have to shave my head?
A shaved-look design needs to be discussed alongside the hair length that supports it. Ask what preparation is needed before changing your haircut. Keeping longer hair and reducing visible scalp is a different density conversation.
Can the hairline look soft rather than sharply outlined?
Explain the edge you prefer and ask to see relevant healed work. Design choices can be discussed before treatment, but a photograph cannot guarantee the same appearance on your scalp.
What if I lose more hair later?
Discuss the possibility before choosing the treatment area and design. Ask how future changes could affect blending, maintenance or additional work. SMP does not stop the cause of hair loss.
How many sessions will I need?
The clinic’s session count and spacing vary with the style, scalp condition, coverage and healing. Ask for a proposed sequence and review points rather than assuming one visit completes every plan.
How do I compare the cost?
Compare the full proposed area, sessions, reviews and maintenance terms. Pricing & Payments explains personalized quotes and payment options; the consultation establishes your own plan.
