AT-HOME CARE / BROWS & LIPS
Exploring a hair-stroke brow look at home.
Learn what you like about individual-looking strokes before deciding on cosmetic tattooing.

General education for everyday care and planning. For a fresh procedure, follow your practitioner’s individual aftercare instructions.
Observe your natural brow pattern.
Look at your brows without makeup in ordinary light. Notice where you have hair, where you normally fill a gap and whether you prefer a very subtle finish. You can gently arrange the hairs with a clean brow brush to see the shape you already have. Avoid removing extra hair simply to match an online outline before your consultation.
Use removable makeup to explore the idea.
A brow pencil or pen designed for the area can help you try light, hair-like marks, following the product instructions. Keep the experiment on intact skin and stop if it irritates you. Begin with the areas you usually fill, then step back and judge the whole face rather than a magnified close-up.
Make a note of what you would want to retain: visible natural hairs, a softer front or a small gap that looks less obvious. A makeup trial communicates your taste; it cannot predict how tattoo strokes would heal in your skin.
Nano brows are not a DIY drawing technique.
At the clinic, nano brows refers to a cosmetic tattoo approach using a machine to create a hair-stroke effect. Choosing placement and working in skin require assessment and training. Do not use tattoo pens, blades or needles on your own brows.
Alberta Health Services: tattoo and permanent makeup safety explains that tattoo and permanent makeup services need sterile single-use sharps and infection-prevention practices. A tidy bathroom or a new online kit does not replace the full professional setting. For ordinary makeup, Health Canada: eye cosmetic safety also advises against sharing products and recommends stopping use if irritation occurs.
Bring your preference, and keep the technique open.
Existing pigment, skin and natural hair distribution can influence the recommendation. Ask how nano compares with powder or combination brows for the finish you want. Request relevant healed examples, and discuss follow-up and future maintenance.
For the best plan for your goals, talk with our Calgary professionals. You can arrive knowing the look you like without already knowing which technique should create it.
