AT-HOME CARE / BROWS & LIPS
Gentle lip care at home before considering lip blush.
Comfortable lips and a clear colour preference are a better starting point than an aggressive scrub.

General education for everyday care and planning. For a fresh procedure, follow your practitioner’s individual aftercare instructions.
Care for comfort before choosing colour.
Dry or uncomfortable lips can make any cosmetic feel less pleasant. The American Academy of Dermatology: dry, chapped lips recommends non-irritating lip products, avoiding licking or picking, and using a protective balm. Plain petroleum jelly is one option discussed in that guidance. Stop a product that burns or stings instead of treating discomfort as proof it is working.
Persistent cracking, a sore that does not heal or another unexplained change needs a healthcare assessment. A cosmetic tattoo consultation should not replace that care. This general advice is for ordinary lip care, not a fresh lip-blush aftercare protocol.
Skip the “perfect lips overnight” experiment.
Do not scrub or peel sore lips to prepare for a pigment appointment. Avoid introducing several new products immediately beforehand. If you already have a routine that is comfortable, write down the products and bring questions about what to continue or pause. Let the practitioner explain any preparation specific to the planned service.
Explore colour with removable cosmetics.
On comfortable, intact lips, try a familiar lip cosmetic as labelled and photograph a shade you enjoy in ordinary daylight. Note whether you want a subtle tint, more even-looking colour or clearer definition. Include a photograph without colour for your own comparison.
A favourite lipstick is a reference for preference, not a prediction of healed tattoo colour. Lip blush uses pigment; it does not add the volume of a filler treatment. Ask what can realistically be changed for your natural lip colour and what will remain.
Ask about suitability and current availability.
Our lip-blush enquiry page explains the next step. Tell the practitioner about previous lip procedures, sensitivities and any history of cold sores through the clinic’s intake process. Any medical prevention or treatment advice belongs with an appropriate healthcare professional.
For the best plan for your goals, contact our Calgary team to confirm availability and discuss assessment, healed examples, aftercare and the full quote. Allow the consultation to guide the decision rather than booking around a promised result.
