YOUR STARTING POINT
A healed surgical or injury scar: prepare for a cosmetic consultation.
A useful consultation explains both the possibilities and the limits for your particular scar.

Describe what you want to change.
A scar may be noticeable because of colour, width, texture or location. Write down which feature matters to you and whether there is any discomfort or restriction. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons: scar revision explains that scars can differ in colour and contour and cannot be completely erased. Its surgical discussion is not a claim that Wholesome Empire provides surgery.
Keep medical concerns in the right conversation.
A raised, painful, changing or unhealed area needs appropriate healthcare assessment before a cosmetic decision. Bring relevant procedure history and any instructions from your treating clinician. Readiness is individual; simply knowing the age of a scar does not tell the practitioner everything about its condition.
Compare methods using your own goal.
Pigment camouflage addresses suitable colour-contrast concerns. Inkless revision is a different needling approach without skin-tone tattoo pigment. Ask why the proposed method fits your tissue, what it would leave unchanged and how progress would be reviewed. You do not need to choose a technique before being assessed.
Common questions.
How do I know whether a scar is ready?
Ask the clinic what assessment it requires and whether input from your treating clinician is needed. Healing, stability, symptoms and the proposed procedure matter; a universal number of months is not enough to establish readiness.
Can camouflage flatten a raised scar?
No. Pigment changes visible colour; it does not remove or flatten tissue. A raised or symptomatic scar should be assessed by an appropriate healthcare professional.
Will the scar become invisible?
That is not promised. Ask about a realistic change in the feature that concerns you and what may remain visible in normal light, movement or texture.
Do I need to share my full story publicly?
No public story or review is needed to ask about a service. Share relevant treatment information through the clinic’s intake process, and ask how photographs will be used before consenting to any use beyond your care.
What should a written quote explain?
The area, proposed technique, sessions or review points, inclusions and any additional-work terms. Ask questions about the whole plan rather than comparing a single-session price alone.
