AT-HOME CARE / BROWS & LIPS
Strokes or shading? Explore a combination-brow style at home.
A simple makeup comparison can reveal whether you prefer detail, softness or more definition.

General education for everyday care and planning. For a fresh procedure, follow your practitioner’s individual aftercare instructions.
Compare the features of the look.
Combination brows bring hair-stroke detail and shading into one design. Before deciding whether that appeals to you, think about your everyday makeup. Do you draw small marks at the front but fill the tail more evenly? Do you prefer visible natural hairs with extra definition in a few places? Those observations are useful starting points.
Try one variation at a time.
Using removable cosmetics intended for the brow area, compare your usual look with a lighter version on a different day. Follow the label, keep the skin intact and comfortable, and photograph each look in similar light. Change the amount of shading before changing the whole shape so you can tell what made the difference.
You do not need a complex mapping kit. Write a short preference list instead: soft front, clearer tail, natural-looking space between hairs, or less time filling a particular gap. The goal is to explain your taste, not design a permanent pattern yourself.
Respect the difference between makeup and pigment.
Health Canada: eye cosmetic safety recommends clean hands, not sharing eye cosmetics and discontinuing products that irritate. Freshly tattooed skin needs the practitioner’s aftercare rather than ordinary makeup.
The FDA: tattoos and permanent makeup notes that permanent makeup can be difficult to remove and can change in appearance over time. A new design over existing pigment therefore deserves assessment. Do not try home removal, tattooing or a strong peel to clear the area before an appointment.
Let the consultation decide the balance.
Our combination brow service guide explains the conversation about strokes, shading and old pigment. Ask why a particular balance fits your skin and how the healed result may differ from freshly completed work. Compare it with nano-only and powder options rather than assuming a combined technique is always better.
For the best approach to your preferred finish, speak with our Calgary professionals. Bring your reference photographs and ask about healing, follow-up, maintenance and the complete proposed quote.
