YOUR STARTING POINT
Adding scar revision and camouflage to your practice: questions first.
Choose education by the work you want to learn and the support you will need to practise responsibly.

Match the course to the skill you want to add.
If you already work in beauty or permanent makeup, a new scar service may look like a natural next step. Start by identifying what is genuinely new to you: tissue assessment, client communication, technique, colour work or operating requirements. Existing experience is useful context, but it does not automatically establish competence in another procedure.
Review the actual curriculum.
Wholesome Empire’s professional training page describes inkless scar and stretch-mark revision and camouflage, with supervised model work, a professional kit and mentorship. Request the current course details and prerequisites. Do not assume that an inkless or camouflage course also qualifies you to offer SMP, brows or unrelated medical services.
Plan the practice around the education.
The Government of Alberta: personal services regulation and standards describes the province’s health and safety framework for personal services. Confirm the requirements that apply to your proposed services and location with the relevant authorities. Include time for supervised learning, feedback, business preparation and any further support before offering a service independently.
Common questions.
Do I need previous tattoo or beauty experience?
Ask the training team about current prerequisites and how your background fits the course. A recommendation should account for your existing knowledge and the support you would need, rather than assume all learners start at the same point.
How should I evaluate the model component?
Ask what is demonstrated, what learners practise under supervision, how feedback is given and how readiness is assessed. Clarify model arrangements and what happens if you need additional practice or support.
Does a certificate automatically authorize my business to offer the service?
Do not assume that it does. Education, competence, local operating requirements and insurance are separate matters to verify for your situation. Confirm the applicable requirements before offering the service.
What should I ask about the kit and mentorship?
Request the current kit list, any additional costs, how mentorship is accessed, what it covers and how questions or case reviews are handled. Understand the support terms before enrolling.
Can training guarantee income or clients?
No. Ask about the educational outcome and support, not a promised return. Build your own budget for training, travel, supplies, operating costs and time; course completion does not guarantee bookings or earnings.
